GCSE Results 2024
Following the exceptional A-Level results, Hatcham College is proud to announce our GCSE results. We are very proud of our students both in terms of achievement and progress. We are especially proud of the strong increase in the number of students achieving grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with a current rate of 73%. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and the support of their teachers. Our high prior attaining students always do really well and nearly a quarter have excelled by achieving grades 7 or above in both of these core subjects with nearly 20% of all grades in all subjects being grades 7-9!
Hatcham College has surpassed the national average for grades 7-9 in a wide range of subjects including: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Photography, Art , Spanish, French, Citizenship, History, and Mathematics.
Within the year group, there were many students who achieved really exceptional results. The students below scored excellent grades of note:

- Eimear – seven grade 9s, a grade 8 and two 7s
- Rory – five grade 9s, five grade 8s and a grade 6
- Andres – six grade 9s, four grade 8s and two 7s
- Enoch – three grade 9s, five grade 8s a grade 7 and a 5
- Davina – two grade 9s, six grade 8s and two grade 7s
- Daisy – two grade 9s, six grade 8s and two grade 7s
- Jose – four grade 9s, three grade 8s, two 7s and a 6
- Maia – four grade 9s, five 8s and two 7s
- Heather – two grade 9s, five grade 8s, two grade 7s, a grade 6 and a distinction*
- Rose – two grade 9s, four grade 8s and four grade 7s
- Tejiri – one grade 9, seven grade 8s and two grade 6s
- Julia – three grade 9s, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and two grade 6s
Within our school, there are a huge number of students who worked incredibly hard within their time at the school. Those that we are most proud of are those that made exceptional progress from their starting points, making on average over two grades more than the expected grade based on national figures: Gwendolyn, Lys, Ben, Haroon, Enoch, Daisy, Melody, Antonia, Honoria, Dashnie, Jiya, Angleica, Emmanuella, Lola, Ayub and Maxim.
These outstanding results are indicative of Hatcham College's dedication to academic excellence and our holistic approach to education. We are committed to maintaining and exceeding these standards in the years to come, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for their future endeavours. GCSE Results 2023
Hatcham College are immensely proud of the achievements of their year 11 students who produced a really strong set of results this year:
- Nearly a third of all grades were a grade 7
- Between 10-30% of all grades in Mathematics, English, History, German, Spanish, Latin, Art & design, Graphics, Music, Music Technology, Photography, Textiles & RS were grades 7-9.
- Over 1 in 5 students achieved grade 7s in both Maths and English
- Over half of our students achieved a grade 7 in the separate sciences and there was a 100% pass rate
As with the A-Level results, they compare extremely well with 2019, which was the last ‘normal’ year of public examinations and demonstrate significant progress of the cohort compared to their starting points at the beginning of the year. The number of students achieving grade 7+ in both English and Maths has increased by 7% and at grade 5+ by 6%.

Previous Results
The way that schools are required to report their results changed in 2016.
There have also been changes to the National Curriculum and to the exams, tests and assessments that children are required to sit.
Due to all those changes the measures reported below are not comparable with those published before 2016. The Department for Education has published some information to explain these new measures which is available from the school performance tables web site.
