Hatcham College Sixth Form students celebrate strong results and exciting destinations
- 11 students achieved straight A*–A grades
- 76% achieved A*–C – up from 72%
- 9% of grades were A* – up from 6% last year
- 53% of applied subject grades were Distinction*–Distinction – up from 32%
Students at Haberdashers’ Hatcham College Sixth Form are celebrating today after receiving their A Level and vocational results, with another strong year of achievement seeing students secure places at some of the UK’s leading universities, prestigious degree apprenticeships and exciting employment opportunities.
This year, 11 students achieved straight A–A grades*, with students progressing to destinations including the universities of Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Warwick and York, as well as a degree apprenticeship with Deloitte.
Hatcham Sixth Form Results 2026
Among the individual successes are:
- Rose Cain achieved A*A*A* and will study Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge.
- Lily Davis achieved A*A*A and will study History at the University of Oxford.
- Lola Walters achieved A*A*A* and will study Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford.
- Joseph Garton Clark achieved AAA and will study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford.
- Gabriel Collins achieved A*A*A* and will study Mathematics at the University of Warwick.
- Sacha Stewart achieved AADist* and will study Psychological and Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
- Rafiq Lawson achieved AAA and will study Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of York.
- Braiden Doda achieved ADistA and will study Mathematics with Finance and Accounting at Queen Mary University of London.
- Masir Motlekar achieved A*A*A* and will take up a Transactions and Investment Fund Tax Degree Apprenticeship with Deloitte.
Reflecting on her results, Sacha said:
I am over the moon with my results and extremely grateful for all of the support I have received at Hatcham College.
Continued improvement across the Sixth Form
This year's results represent strong improvement across both academic and applied subjects.
The proportion of A grades has increased from 6% last year to 9% this year, while the proportion of students achieving *A–C grades has risen from 72% to 76%.
There has also been particularly strong progress in vocational subjects. The average grade in applied subjects has risen from Merit to Distinction, with the Average Point Score increasing from 25.5 to 31.8.
The proportion of grades at Distinction–Distinction* has also increased significantly, from 32% to 53%.

We are so delighted with this year’s outcomes. Our students have worked incredibly hard and have consistently shown great character and resilience. Their achievements reflect both their dedication and the support of our staff.

More than results
Success at Hatcham College Sixth Form is about more than examination results. Students benefit from a wide-ranging programme of personal development, careers education and enrichment opportunities designed to help them develop the knowledge, confidence and skills they need for life beyond Sixth Form.
Through Habs Aspire, the Trust-wide mentoring programme, all Sixth Form students have the opportunity to work with an industry mentor. This gives students valuable insight into different careers, opportunities to build professional networks and the chance to learn from people working across a wide range of sectors.
Year 12 students also take part in a weekly personal development programme, with opportunities including careers talks and an elective curriculum designed to broaden their experience beyond their academic subjects. Electives have included driving theory, business and entrepreneurship, debating, sport, introductory Latin and DJ-ing.
Students can also take part in the Livery Awards, complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and access support to study a community language.
For students considering highly competitive university applications, Hatcham also offers an Oxbridge Access Programme, supported by a dedicated Oxbridge and UCAS tutor. This provides additional guidance and preparation for students aspiring to study at Oxford or Cambridge.
Together, these opportunities are designed to ensure that students leave Hatcham not only with strong academic and vocational qualifications, but also with the experiences, skills and confidence to take their next steps.
