Our Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Economic curriculum is underpinned by the PSHE Association objectives. Our learning falls into three main themes:
- Health and Wellbeing
- Relationships
- Living in the Wider World.
Within this, pupils learn about all of these topics:
|
Physical Health |
Mental Health |
Growing and changing |
|
Personal Safety |
Relationships and sex education |
Bullying and discrimination |
|
Media and digital literacy |
Money and careers |
Community and responsibility |
We follow a spiral curriculum, revisiting topics as pupils get older and have new feelings and ideas about them.
At Key Stage 3, students have a discreet PSHE lesson every fortnight, as well as the Tutor Time programme. KS4 have PSHE focused tutor time, whilst KS5 have a double period of tutor time each week, which allows for coverage of the PSHE objectives.
All KS3 and KS4 pupils take part in 3 PSHE drop down days per year, with a combination of teacher led lessons and external workshops. These days allow us to be responsive to emerging needs and benefit from the expertise of visiting speakers and organisations.
Parents and guardians are invited to attend the information evening before each drop down day to ask any questions about upcoming sessions.
